Getting to Know the CEO Nyakio Marie

Who are you?

I am a mother, retired disabled Marine Corps Veteran, Georgetown alumni (MPS Sports Industry Management 19') and Penn State alumni (B.S. Psychology/Business 16'). 

What is one of your proudest moments?

My proudest moments have been becoming a mother both naturally and through adoption. Aside from motherhood I would have to say my second proudest moment has been retiring from the Marine Corps and launching my own business on my own terms.

How did your business get started?

I saved prior to retiring from the Marine Corps which happened right before the Covid shutdown. During Covid I was on break and not working due to the economical status. Since life was at a stand still I didn't spend much, I saved majority of the funds after taking care of necessities. I also was heavy into trading in the stock market during the covid shutdown and did very well on several investments. My success from these personal endeavors allowed me to save enough income to start small with my business and work my way up as I progressed and started to see return on expenses (profits won't truly be made until the expenses paid for machinery and startup costs are recouped).
